All In Music provides music opportunities for young people in Southend and surrounding areas. Established for over 15 years, the project is funded by Youth Music and designed/delivered by Southend YMCA for 11 to 25 year olds.
Our experienced tutors are skilled and creative musicians who aim to provide fun, informal tuition in an inspiring and safe environment. Whilst delivering 1-to-1 lessons, group sessions (bands or ensembles) and innovative workshops, we strive to develop participants' knowledge, skills and confidence in both music and within their daily lives.
A range of instrument and music production tuition is available, including:
- singing
- songwriting
- guitar
- bass
- drums
- piano
- recording
- beat-making
Whilst developing young people through engaging teaching and music mentoring, we also provide regular performance opportunities in the form of youth-led gigs and showcases at local venues in the Southend area.
During the life of this project, we've worked with hundreds of young people from complete novices to skilled professionals. No previous musical experience is necessary and we are SEND/disability-friendly.
Sessions are delivered at our All In Music studio in central Southend - a fully equipped and acoustically-treated recording studio and rehearsal room with air conditioning.
We currently facilitate SEND group songwriting and instrument workshops and are able to deliver these in day centres/external venues.
