Description

Restoring and preserving the cockle boat Endeavour for the community.

The Endeavour was built in Leigh-on-Sea in 1926 and spent most of her working life as a cockle fishing vessel. In 1940 she was one of six Leigh "Little Ships" which rescued troops from the beaches at Dunkirk and is the only ship that now survives. The Trust has restored her for community and educational use.

Endeavour took part in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Pageant in 2012, as one of fifty ships forming an "Avenue of Sails" along the Thames.
