Sober Socials - Activities for adults

Description: If you want to enjoy events - music, art and entertainment - all in an alcohol-free, sober environment, then you've come to the right place.

We are a fun and welcoming group of people of all ages and backgrounds with one thing in common: we want to socialise without alcohol - or at least sometimes. We aim to forge a supportive community of like-minded people and promote a varied programme of alcohol-free events. At the same time, we wish to support local musicians and artists by providing them with a friendly, intimate audience to showcase their work to.

Everyone is welcome - You don't have to be teetotal to attend our events. You simply have to agree to turn up sober and leave sober (hopefully having made some new friends).

We are NOT an alcohol recovery group - though we will be happy to point you towards local services that may be able to help you if you or someone you know has a difficult relationship with alcohol.

We are NOT "sobriety missionaries" - We are not here to convince people to give up alcohol and believe that is personal choice. However, we will signpost you to support services if you wish.

Date and time: Our main events are on Friday and Saturday evenings, providing a welcome alternative to pubs and clubs.

Session information: We operate a strict no-alcohol policy at our events. We ask that you turn up sober and remain sober for the duration. Anyone suspected of drinking or drugging will be asked to leave immediately.
Cost description: The cost of events varies but is typically between £0-10.
Referral notes: We are not an alcohol recovery group, however if you would like further information and support about reducing your drinking or achieving sobriety, we will happily refer you to local support services.
