AGE Concern Southend-on-Sea CIO - Activities for adults

Age Concern Southend-on-Sea provide services to people in later life which include:

• The Haven Community Hub - social and health classes available for all ages
• information, advice and signposting on a range of issues
• telephone and face to face befriending
• hire of wheelchairs
• hearing aid battery exchange
• events inc. fayres, quizzes, tea-dances
• dementia day centre

The Haven Community Hub is a welcoming space funded by Age Concern Southend-on-Sea. The Hub hosts a number of Age Concern services for the elderly (including our offices) but is also open to all members of the community, irrelevant of age or ability. The Haven Community Hub is a space where people can socialise, join in with support and leisure groups and take part in activities to keep fit and stay active.

The Hub also provides spaces for hire to external buinsesses and other charities, creating a one-stop shop for many services in the community. Including a large cafe, therapy treatments, counselling services, fitness classes and social groups.

We also run a dementia day centre, offering quality respite care for people living with a number of conditions including Dementia, Parkinson's, Stroke recovery and Brain injury. We provide full day, half day and hourly support.

Costs for venue hire at The Haven Community Hub vary depending on the space being hired. We are happy to discuss each individual requirement and tailor something that is specific to you.
