Transpire is a constituted voluntary community group with an elected committee. We are also members of Southend Association of Voluntary Services (SAVS) and the LGBT consortium. We are NOT a trans fetish group.

There is little on offer in the Southend area of Essex, for the trans community, their families or friends. Feeling isolated can make people feel incredibly vulnerable, and sometimes there seems no place to turn to. But there is; simply by talking to other people, whatever their connection to the trans community can be a big help. We hold monthly meetings and have a closed facebook group. Anyone can join this facebook page, Trans or not, so please don't feel we are automatically assuming you are trans just by joining the page.

Once you have completed the survey, then request to join the private group via facebook. Please check your filtered your message requests on messenger as the administrators will have contacted you.

As a voluntary community group we heavily rely on the financial support kindly provided by our members and supporters in the local community. Admins on the facebook page should not be blocked from messenging. Our aim as admins is to ensure as best we can that we protect members from those who do not have genuine interest in our group. If you are not prepared to be messaged (if required) don't join us. If you join our group, OR are added by somebody and the request is accepted, there is an expectation that you'll post a brief introduction about yourself on the page. 
 
Our facebook page aims to facilitate discussion and networking for-

1.Members of the trans community, of all ages, young and old, whatever their gender identity and whatever stage in their transition they have reached (if at all) .
2. People who might have a trans community member in their family.
3. Friends of trans community members, who perhaps want to get a better understanding of how it feels to be a transperson, or just simply offer their support.
Nobody should feel isolated, and through education and better understanding our group seeks to help people know they are not alone, to provide support and advice to anybody that might need someone to talk to or just want to have a few questions answered.

Being the parent or guardian of a Trans child can be isolating and daunting. The Chair of transpire can be contacted and facilatate introuctiuon to other members in a similar sitaution who may be able to offer help and advice.
