EHC Hub accessibility, videos and guides

Videos and guides for parent, carers and young people

When a user makes an initial request for assessment (but are not signed into the EHC Hub) they will be asked to fill in sections 1 to 6 and submit. They will then get an invite to create an EHC Hub account.

When the account is created they will be able to view and edit the request for assessment before it is submitted. At this stage they can attach supporting documentation, reports and information.

The following videos and guides will help you use the Hub. If you need information in a different format or help email localoffer@southend.gov.uk

A parent carers guide to the Hub and frequently asked questions are available. They can be found in the admin area of the Hub within the Help section.

Accesibility features

Vision impaired users or those with English as an additional language can choose the read aloud option on the Hub. The user selects a language and a voice to read the text on the screen. To use this feature:

  1. log into the Hub
  2. go to the toolbar at the top of the page. Select the A icon. Once selected you will be presented with an additional toolbar
  3. select `voice options`. Choose the voice, speed and language.

The read aloud option can also be accessed by pressing ctrl, shift and U together on a keyboard.

The Hub also supports built-in web browser translation tools. On a web browser you can configure your primary language and enable auto-translation of web pages that are not in your primary language. This feature is included with Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Safari.
