What the local authority expects a setting to provide - Element 2
Element 2 funding is determined by:
- a range of proxy indicators that should;
- determine the prevalence of SEN within a particular school
Some pupils may need specific, additional and time-limited interventions to help to:
- accelerate their progress to enable them to;
- work at or above age-related expectations
They are often targeted at a group of pupils with similar needs. Schools should use their Notional SEN Fund where it is decided that:
- targeted (special educational) provision is needed for the child to make progress, and;
- it is decided to provide the pupil with SEN support
Provision up to a cost of £6,000 per pupil is expected to be provided by the school from elements 1 and 2 of the schools delegated budget via the Notional SEN Fund.
