A Place to Live
Welcome to Livewell Southend (previously known as the SHIP website).
We are still working on our content and would love to hear your feedback.
This category gives you information about where you can live, what choices there are for vulnerable adults, and what support is available for those at risk of homelessness.
The links on the right will guide you to information, advice, and guidance for applying for a council house.
Care Homes and Sheltered Housing
If you, a friend, or a loved one are finding it hard to manage in the home, you might be in need of extra support. Careline alarm pendants provide extra peace of mind, and Telecare equipment can be installed.
If you are looking for residential care homes, or sheltered accommodation, you might want to look at our "Living Independently" category.
There are sheltered housing schemes which allow people to live independently, but in a community with other people, and with a warden on hand if help is needed.
If you, a friend, or a loved one are at risk of homelessness, take a look at our ‘related services’ for links to Harp, who can provide emergency accommodation, hostel services, and programmes designed to help people improve their lives and get back on track.
