Southend Food Club

Family Action are launching Food on Our Doorstep weekly clubs to reduce food waste and provide local families with a range of food at a low cost.

There will be a variety of good quality, surplus food items available each week.

The club costs an annual fee of £1 to join, the cost per bag is £3.50. We aim for your bag to be worth £10-£15.

Members must live or work within 15 minutes walking distance of the Children's Centre and have a child aged 0-11.

Hamstel: Wednesdays, 10am-12pm

Prince Ave: Wednesdays, 4pm-5.30pm

Blenheim: Fridays, 10am - 12pm

Centre Place: Fridays, 11am-1pm

Friars: Saturdays, 11am-1pm

Summercourt: Saturdays, 11am-1pm

ASDA Shoebury

NHS workers are given priority between 9am and 10am every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and exclusively on Sunday mornings.

Waitrose

Our vulnerable and elderly customers have a dedicated shopping hour during the first opening hours of our stores.

For our customers who are self-isolating we have launched a e-gift card. This helps those customers organise a simple, safe and contact-free payment for groceries.  The git card can be purchased online at johnlewisgiftcard.com.

Co-op

We have launched a gift card for those who are shielding or self-isolating. Call 0800 029 4592 to purchase a gift card.

Morrisons

We are giving care homes priority online delivery and a free delivery pass. Care homes need to be registered with Morrison’s to access this service.

We also have gift cards that can be purchased online. For our customers who are not online please call 0333 335 0398.

Sainsburys

We have introduced a Sainsbury’s Volunteer Shopping Card. This can be purchased online. You select how much you wish to spend and it is then sent to the person shopping on your behalf.

Our elderly and vulnerable customers can shop between 8am till 9am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

NHS and Social Care Workers can shop in our stores between 7.30am and 8am Monday to Saturday.

Iceland

We now offer ‘contact free’ delivery. All you need to do is leave a note in the delivery box when you checkout.

We are prioritising those on the governments shielding list and have made contact to offer delivery slots.

Aldi

All day, everyday NHS, Police and Fire service will skip the queue when they show a valid ID. We have extended our priority shopping time to include all groups entitled to a blue light card. They have early access on Sundays as well as being able to enter store 30 minutes early.

We open 30 minutes early Monday to Saturday for customers over 70 and vulnerable.

 

Nisa – Victoria Station

This store allows deliver and you can pay at the door.

Metrow Foods

We deliver a range of food, fresh, frozen and tinned. Call us for a list of popular home products.

Order before 4pm for next working day delivery (Monday to Saturday)

We are open Monday to Saturday from 9am till 4pm.
