For information about local schools including admissions, catchment areas and term dates, follow the Southend Borough Council web link in 'Useful Websites'. You will also find a link to OFSTED where the most recent school inspection reports can be found.

For young people aged 13-19 the Connexions service can provide independent information and guidance on education, apprenticeships, careers and issues affecting teenagers today.

Special Educational Needs, Disabilities and the Local Offer

Schools have now started adding links to their SEND Local Offer on their SHIP directory entries. This is a work in progress so if a school does not have details of their Local Offer please contact them direct or visit their website.

Adult Learning and Training

We have three large adult learning providers in the Southend area; South Essex College, Southend Adult Community College and University of Essex. Alternatively some courses are held within the community, particularly at local Children's Centres.
