Athletics
The Athletic Club for Southend-on-Sea and surrounding districts, and fully affiliated to England Athletics. Founded as Southend Harriers in 1905, We provide training and competition for all athletic events seen at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Our facilities include our new Clubhouse built in 2015; an 8-laned 400m all-weather athletic track with a 100m straight; four throws [Hammer/Discus; Shot and Javelin]; four jumps [High Jump, Long Jump, Pole Vault and Triple Jump]; and barrier events [Hurdles and Steeplechase]. We also provide training and competition for Road Running, Cross Country, Race Walking and Multi-terrain events.
Lower age limit: school year 6. No upper age limit.
