Belfairs Wood, Park and Nature Reserve
Who to contact
Belfairs Park comprises over 200 acres of ancient semi-natural woodland and in 1985 was declared a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The woodlands make a great walk for all the family spotting squirrels and the rare Health fritillary butterfly. Facilities include: bowling greens, tennis court, football, cricket, basketball, children's playground, golf course, horse riding, pottery and restaurant. There is also a woodland resource centre run by Essex Wildlife Trust, a fantastic resource for schools with an indoor education hall, outdoor classroom, educational equipment and resources and close proximity to ancient woodland and waterways.
