Reading Well
Reading Well helps you to understand and manage your health and wellbeing using helpful reading
Libraries are working with the Reading Agency to promote Reading Well which is a series of booklists carefully chosen to support people to understand and manage their health and wellbeing using helpful reading. There is a good link for further information, reading-well.org.uk There are 5 booklists available which include:
- Reading Well for mental health
- Reading Well for young people
- Reading Well for children
- Reading Well for long term conditions
- Reading Well for dementia
The books are all chosen and recommended by health experts, as well as by people living with the conditions covered and their relatives and carers'. You can be recommended a title by a health professional, or you can simply visit your local library and take a book out yourself.
There are also mood-boosting books which is also a national promotion of uplifting titles, novels, poetry and non-fiction. Further details can be found on reading-well.org.uk
