A Better Start Southend (ABSS) has been providing free services to pregnant people and families with babies and children under 4 years old in Southend since 2015. It is a £36 million programme funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and coordinated by the Early Years Alliance. The Early Years Alliance has asked RSM, along with its subcontractors, University of Essex, to evaluate the ABSS programme. This will involve collecting information about the impact of the ABSS programme from Southend parents, service providers and other community members to understand the changes the ABSS programme has made in Southend. The research conducted by RSM, an independent research company, will help to inform decisions about services for children and families in Southend. It is important that RSM reach as many people in Southend as possible so that the findings accurately reflect the experiences and needs of local people.

If you would like to know more about this evaluation please contact Beth Young, the project manager at RSM.
