Tell us about your lived experience of education, health and social care services and hear about local SEND system developments
If you are a young person with special educational needs or a disability (SEND) or the parent carer of a child or young person with SEND and live in Southend, we want to hear from you.
Southend SEND Independent Forum (SSIF), the parent carer forum for Southend and the SEND Local Offer team invite you to tell us about your lived experience of education, health and social care services and hear about local SEND system developments.
Input into and learn about 3 key things:
- tell us about your lived experience of education, health and social care to feed into the SEND Specific Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA). You can read about the JSNA on the event details (links below)
- learn about progress against the SEND Strategic Action Plan.
- have your say on the vision for Southend
Ways to get involved
- in-person event - join us on Monday 18 November in the Jubilee Room at Southend Civic Centre. This is a drop-in session, so you can arrive any time between 9.30am and 11.30am. This event will cover all 3 areas mentioned above. Event details
- online session - join us on Microsoft Teams on Thursday 21 November 7pm to 8pm. This event will cover the SEND JSNA and the SEND strategic action plan but will not cover the Southend-on-Sea City Vision. If you wish to attend this session, please book a place through Eventbrite. Event details and bookings.
- complete a survey - tell us what is working, what is not working and what could be done to improve education, health and social care for SEND in Southend. Click to complete the survey. Survey closes on Sunday 24 November 2024.
- have your say on the Southend-on-Sea City Vision. This is not a SEND specific piece of work, but the Council want to hear from anyone who lives, works, visits or studies in Southend. Click to complete the Southend-on-Sea City Vision survey. Survey closes on Friday 22 November 2024.
