Children's occupational therapists (OTs) work with children and young people aged 0 to 18. Focusing on meaningful activities they need, want or are expected to do in their daily life such as getting washed and dressed, playing with toys, or going to school.
We provide Children's Occupational Therapy within Southend-on-Sea, Castlepoint, and Rochford and work in close partnership with:
- Parents and carers
- Other Occupational therapists (including Social Care)
- Physiotherapy
- Speech and language therapy
- Health visitors
- Paediatricians
- GPs
- Psychologist
- Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCos), Teachers and Learning Support Assistants
- Dietician
- Local education authorities
- Early years team.
The service delivers sensory question and answer sessions and lifeskills workshops for parent carers.
It also has a duty line that parent carers can call with Occupational Therapy specific questions. Read more here.
