Description

The Play and Parenting Team (Jigsaws) is part of the Lighthouse Child Development Centre team. Working under the direction of the Children's Targeted Team Manager and the Specialist Health Visitor for Children with Additional Needs the service comprises of a team of Development and Play Advisors, working across Children's Services in South East Essex (Southend, Castle Point and Rochford areas.)

The team supports families who have children with additional needs, complex health needs and genetic conditions enabling them to reach their full potential.

Supporting families through the assessment pathway for Neuro Disability and Autism.

Arranging and managing a team of professionals to support child's needs.

After a Triage Assessment, families are provided with a plan of care that can be implemented by parents/carers.

Following this assessment, depending on identified needs, the child may be invited to attend a group or for those with more complex needs. A bespoke package maybe offered to help and advise parents/carers on the best way to help their child progress through play, as part of a home visit. Or they may be signposted to other services.

The team also runs Sleep Active Support Clinics and Sleep Management Workshops.

Is a referral required?

Yes - a referral from one of the following is required and can be made via a referral form on S1:

health professionals providing care to the child, including consultants, clinical nurse specialists, GPs, Health Visitors and School Nurses.
