Southend-on-Sea City Council is developing a SEND Preparing for Adulthood strategy. Come along to an engagement event.

Southend-on-Sea City Council is embarking on a crucial journey to enhance the future for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). To ensure the most effective and inclusive Preparing for Adulthood strategy, the Council is inviting the community to participate in engagement sessions led by Kate Clarke, Preparing for Adulthood Advisor.

With a deep understanding of SEND, Kate brings a wealth of experience to the table. As a former teacher, qualified SENCO, and Preparing for Adulthood manager, she has dedicated her career to supporting young people with diverse needs. Her expertise in navigating the complexities of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and fostering successful transitions from education to adulthood is invaluable.

"I believe in the power of collaboration," says Kate. "By working closely with families, educators, and young people themselves, we can create a truly inclusive and effective strategy that meets the unique needs of every individual."
