Southend Guide to your Neurodevelopmental Journey
This guide is:
- specific to Southend-on-Sea
- for families with children or young people with suspected or diagnosed neurodevelopmental conditions
It has information on all things neurodevelopmental (ND). It aims to help families understand different ND conditions including:
- Autism
- ADHD
- Dyslexia
- Dyspraxia
- Dyscalculia
- Dysgraphia
The guide also looks at how families can;
- support their child or young person
- find the right services and support
- understand next steps
- read first-person experiences from local ND children and adults
The guide was:
- co-produced with Southend CCG and Southend-on-Sea City Council
- written by Southend SEND Independent Forum (SSIF). Input and contributions were made by local services and schools
It aims to:
- raise knowledge and understanding of neurodevelopmental conditions
- highlight what support and services are available
- provide reassurance, guidance, signposting, and recommendations to families in crisis
Professionals can use it to support families.
How can families access the guide?
The guide is free. It is available online on the Southend SEND Independent Forum (SSIF) website. Paper copies are also available.
