Southend SEND: Early Identification and Support Toolkit
Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) experts worked together to make a guide to support the early and accurate identification of SEND across Southend.
The Southend SEND: Early Identification and Support Toolkit:
- gives information and examples of "tried and tested" assessment tools that;
- can be used to inform support and intervention that may be needed, in the setting and home
It can be used by settings to:
- support conversations with families and;
- make sure there is better consistency across Southend
The guide has examples of questions that may be asked to support decision making around if and when an assessment may be helpful.
It was developed by:
- education and health colleagues at Southend-on-Sea City Council
- professionals;
- and with families
It was developed through:
- events offered within the Council's SEND Leadership Programme
- targeted discussions in schools
