Maths difficulties

This relates to difficulties with certain areas of maths, such as:

  • number facts
  • mental recall
  • difficulty working through maths problems

You can expect the teacher within the classroom to make changes to meet needs for every child or young person, for example:

  • use of practical resources such as cubes
  • number lines
  • diagrams
  • number fact charts
  • timetables charts
  • use of graph paper to help with lining up written work
  • use of calculators when the focus is not mental maths
  • scribing for the child or young person
