Social communication difficulties
You can expect the teacher within the classroom to make changes to meet needs for every child or young person.
For example:
- using clear, specific language
- using visual resources like visual timetables, task planners or displaying rules and routines
- breaking activities down into smaller steps
Some children may also have:
- trouble with social skills, understanding rules or interacting with others
- repetitive behaviours and routines
- sensory and/or social and emotional mental health difficulties
- Autism, Dyspraxia, selective mutism or other diagnoses
